Summary/Objective Assisting in providing quality child care in a nurturing, safe environment using developmentally appropriate curriculum. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner Supervising children in the child development program including play periods, meal time, field trips, assemblies, bathroom and emergency drills Assisting with developing and creating bulletin boards, signs, borders and classroom displays Assisting students with various physical, emotional and educational needs Alerting the director/supervisor to any problem or special information about a student Maintaining the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed Working in collaboration with other staff to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment Keeping educational materials, equipment and the general room environment neat, safe and clean Maintaining knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules Performing related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner Assisting with the supervision of high school interns Other Duties This job description is not a comprehensive listing of duties, responsibilities, or activities that are required of the employee for this job. Work Environment This job operates in a school environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to talk or hear Regularly required to sit, type and focus on a computer screen for long periods of time Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Position Type/Expected Hours of Work At Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work, or a minimum number of days or hours. This is a 12-month, substitute or part-time position. This position is not eligible for medical benefits. Employee will work scheduled hours per day Monday through Friday. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Education and Experience Working with children. Required Certifications/Licenses Documentation of current negative TB test. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
