  • Appreciating our clients, families, teammates, and the opportunity to serve Position Responsibilities As a Home Care Aide / Personal Care Attendant, responsibilities will vary based on each client's individualized care plan and may include: Assisting with bathing, showering, and personal hygiene Assisting with grooming and dressing Providing toileting and incontinence assistance Assisting with walking and mobility Assisting with transfers using appropriate techniques and approved equipment Turning and repositioning clients Providing companionship and supervision Preparing meals and assisting with eating when appropriate Performing light housekeeping related to the client's care Providing medication reminders within the permitted scope of the position Supporting appropriate range-of-motion activities Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition Following client-specific care plans and safety instructions Accurately documenting services provided Using company-approved technology for scheduling, documentation, and timekeeping Communicating professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team Home Care Aides are expected to provide services within the scope permitted by California law and company policy.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet applicable California requirements for the position, including: Current California Home Care Aide registration, when required for the assignment Successful completion of applicable background check and fingerprinting requirements Required tuberculosis clearance Completion of required orientation and training Ability to communicate sufficiently to understand client care plans, safety instructions, emergency procedures, and job-related information Ability to reliably report to assigned client locations For assignments requiring driving or transportation: Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Automobile insurance meeting applicable requirements Acceptable driving record Preferred Characteristics We are looking for caregivers who are: Compassionate and patient Reliable and punctual Professional and respectful Comfortable providing hands-on personal care Strong communicators Able to work independently while following an established care plan Comfortable using basic mobile technology Calm and professional in urgent situations Committed to client dignity, safety, and independence Physical Requirements The physical requirements of individual assignments may vary depending on the client's needs. Essential job functions may include, with or without reasonable accommodation : Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds Assisting clients with transfers and mobility Supporting clients who may be partial weight-bearing Standing and walking for extended periods Bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and reaching Assisting clients in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, showers, bathtubs, and vehicles Turning and repositioning clients Performing repetitive movements associated with personal care Maintaining sufficient physical stamina to safely perform assigned duties Responding appropriately to urgent or emergency situations Caregivers must follow established safety procedures, care plans, and instructions regarding client transfers and mobility assistance. What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet all applicable California requirements for employment as a Home Care Aide, including: Be currently registered as a California Home Care Aide (HCA) or be able to complete required registration before providing care Successfully complete all required background checks and Live Scan Provide required TB clearance in accordance with California requirements Complete all required orientation, training, and annual training requirements Be able to effectively communicate with clients, families, and the care team Be comfortable using a smartphone or mobile application for scheduling, timekeeping, and care documentation For assignments that require driving or transporting clients, caregivers must also have: A valid California driver's license Current automobile insurance Reliable transportation An acceptable driving record

With or without reasonable accommodation, caregivers may be required to: Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds Assist clients with transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and approved assistive equipment Assist clients who are partial weight-bearing Stand and walk for extended periods Frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, and perform other movements associated with personal care Assist clients in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, bathtubs, and vehicles Reposition clients and provide mobility assistance Perform repetitive movements associated with activities of daily living and personal care Maintain the physical stamina necessary to safely perform assigned duties throughout the shift Respond appropriately and safely to urgent situations within the caregiver's training and scope of responsibilities Amada Senior Care provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable California and federal law.
