Duties Provide attentive supervision and care for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children. Plan and implement engaging activities that support childhood development, early education, and social skills. Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, dressing, and nap times in accordance with individual needs. Ensure a safe environment by monitoring behavior, managing behavior issues with positive reinforcement techniques, and adhering to safety protocols. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to update them on their child's progress, activities, and any concerns that arise. Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any signs of neglect or abuse in compliance with legal requirements. Maintain cleanliness of caregiving areas and ensure all safety standards are consistently met. Requirements Experience working with children across different age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Prior experience caring for children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training is preferred to stay current on safety procedures. Strong activity planning skills for children's educational and recreational activities that promote learning through play. Excellent child supervision skills combined with patience, empathy, and effective behavior management techniques. Ability to communicate clearly with parents or guardians about their child's progress and needs. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential. Previous experience in daycare settings, nannying, babysitting, or youth programs teaching is advantageous.
