We are seeking an exceptional Caregiver and Senior Household Assistant to join our small team as one of two primary assistants. This role combines independent oversight of household operations with hands-on personal care support for a retired couple. You will work approximately 15-25 hours per week on a flexible Thursday-to-Sunday schedule that fits within the windows below. The ideal candidate takes ownership of daily operations, anticipates needs, and carries out both managerial and caregiving tasks with warmth and reliability. Key Responsibilities Plan and carry out grocery shopping with attention to quality and dietary preferences. Prepare simple, nutritious meals that fit our tastes and schedules. Handle errands such as UPS package drop-offs, dry cleaning, and other personal requests while making efficient use of time. Perform light household chores including laundry, kitchen tidying, and dishes. Coordinate with our regular house cleaner who visits every two weeks so the home stays organized. Conduct internet research on household products, travel options, or other assigned projects and deliver clear recommendations. Set up and maintain organizational systems such as pantry setup or document management. Anticipate issues, propose practical solutions, and carry improvements through to keep the household running smoothly. Provide tailored support for events, correspondence, or special projects that align with our preferences. Assist with transfers for the person who uses a mobility scooter. Help with dressing, grooming, and personal care. Provide toileting support. Carry out other duties that support our daily routine. Qualifications At least three years of experience managing household operations or working as a personal assistant for a private home. Minimum two years of hands-on caregiving experience that includes personal care and mobility assistance. CNA certification is preferred. Must be physically strong enough to assist with standing transfers for a person who weighs approximately 250 pounds and can mostly stand with support. Self-starter who takes ownership, finishes projects, and anticipates needs without constant direction. Warm, positive, and empathetic manner with a natural ability to build rapport and match our routines. Ability to help reduce stress and maintain a peaceful household atmosphere while supporting the health challenges of one family member. Fluent English with clear verbal and written communication. Able to follow instructions carefully and communicate proactively. This means checking with us rather than guessing what we might want. Flexible and able to move between varied tasks with ease. Comfortable using mobile apps for shared task lists and proficient at internet research. Legal work authorization, strong references, and a commitment to confidentiality. Non-smoker, drug-free, and owner of a reliable vehicle. Lives within 20 minutes of Empire Mine State Park. Compensation & Schedule Hourly rate: $30-$40 based on experience. Mileage reimbursement at 65 cents per mile for errands and work travel. You will work as an independent contractor. We issue a 1099 for tax reporting at year-end.
