Accountability:
Program Director Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Able to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge
- Must be fingerprinted and receive a criminal record clearance
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Have reliable transportation
- Complete pre-employment requirements. Physical, TB, and Drug Screen
- Complete orientation and training
- Must have enthusiastic attitude and can work as a team player
Responsibilities:
Client Services- Assist clients in activities of daily living. Eating, toileting, bathing (if necessary), dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Provide clients with meaningful cognitive, social, and recreational activities as directed by Program Director.
- Assist clients with active treatment, mobility exercises, and other designated activities (i.e. arts & crafts, sensory, etc.) in the classrooms.
- Serve as a one-on-one attendant for specified clients, if applicable.
- Provide active treatment daily.
- Ensure that each client follows the daily schedule, unless approved by the Program Director.
- Redirect client behaviors.
- Ensure the safety of all clients at STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care.
- Assist clients with their meals and snacks as prepared by their family.
- Provide the clients with opportunities to make choices and be independent.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of clients during transportation.
- Abide by the company's lift policies and procedures.
- Encourage social skills, friendships with peers, volunteers, etc. Client interaction is an important function of STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care.
- Completing medication administration; including medications, PRN medications, nutritional feedings, treatments etc.
- Charting for medication administration, intake, elimination, goals, progress notes, etc. In addition, STAR Center Pediatric Day Health Care employees shall:
- Know the agency policies and procedures related to fire and safety and can carry out emergency procedures when needed. Report any maintenance problems or safety hazards to Program Director.
- Know and adhere to the agency policies on Client's Rights and be able to interpret to clients or client family members.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include daily chores.
