Part-time Job Summary:
Personal Care Attendant The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) provides direct client care under the direction of a skilled nurse, including transfers, ADLs, hygiene, feeding, and play. This role will also assist in the general housekeeping needs to maintain the facility for client use, including laundry, changing linens, and sterilization/cleaning client care areas. We are specifically looking for availability that includes two Saturdays per month, evening shifts, and possibly also overnight shifts.Reports To:
Director of Nursing Qualifications/Requirements:
Current CPR Certification. At least 2 verifiable references. Clear criminal background check. A health examination within 90 days prior to employment or within 7 days after employment. Negative TB test. Access to reliable transportation. 1 year direct pediatric client care experience preferred but not required. Ability to lift, carry, bend, walk and reach as needed to perform client care/transfer of clients up to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, clients, caregivers and the general public.Detailed Tasks:
Provide direct care services under a skilled nurse to pediatric and adult clients with special health care needs. Able to turn and position the client in a wheelchair, bed, mat, bean bag etc. Assist with transfers and ambulation. Prepare meals, feed or assist the client to eat orally or via bolus tube feedings, assist or perform oral care and peg tube care. Perform all ADL care for the client or assist as needed to include but not limited to peri care/toileting. Keep the client care area clean and free of hazards, perform general housekeeping duties like wash laundry and change linens. Assist clients in participating in both independent and group activities. Must work well in a team environment.Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly- $18-22 per hour depending on experience. Paid Training. Paid Sick Leave
- 40 hours per year. Paid Time Off
- increasing with seniority up to 5 weeks per year.
