CNA Full Job Description Purpose:
The Director of Personal Care is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and scheduling and overall administration of the Personal Care Department in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility. The Director of Personal Care ensures that the facility residents receive the optimum level of service
Reports To:
RCC Administrator Primary Job Duties:
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs day-to-day functions. Ensures that adequate personal care staff is available for 24-hour coverage in keeping with the applicable level of care regulations. Develops, maintains and updates written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the personal care department. Ensures the policies and procedures are followed. Monitors department budget and ensures costs such as staffing, supplies and other expenditures are maintained within budgetary boundaries. Develops, maintains and implements facility quality assurance program for personal care services. Implements infection control plan for monitoring communicable and/or infectious diseases. Participates in survey (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Ensures required documentation is properly charted and maintained in accordance with applicable guidelines. Arranges resident medical appointments and transportation when necessary. Maintains quality resident care including compliance with physician's orders and personal care policies, to include nursing policies when applicable. Ensures in-service training and education of all personal care personnel is developed and implemented in accordance with regulations. Reviews and evaluates personal care staff and ensures all staff performance evaluations are conducted in an objective manner and o a timely basis. Conducts interviews with applicants and with approval of the RCC Administrator hires new staff in accordance with established facility human resources policies and procedures. Promotes, disciplines, counsels, and makes other human resources decisions in accordance with facility human resources policies and procedures. Terminates staff only after review and approval of the RCC Administrator. Ensures that the personal care staff performs their duties in a safe manner, and follows established infection control, isolation and universal precautions procedures as instructed. Ensures the confidentiality of all resident care information and monitors personal care to assure that all residents are treated fairly, and with kindness, dignity and respect. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep abreast of changes in the profession, as well as to maintain licensure on a current status. Performs other duties as assigned by the RCC Administrator or company President.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous experience as a PCG or CNA and have supervisory experience. Must be at least 21 years old.
Other Requirements:
Must be familiar with the organization and functions of all departments; and the policies, regulations and procedures of the facility. Must maintain good rapport with the residents and personnel of all departments. Must have the ability to anticipate and prevent problems. Should be sensitive to needs, feelings, attitudes and thoughts of others. Must possess the ability to express opinions clearly, orally and in writing. Should have the knowledge of the principles and methods that apply to Personal Care as defined by the State of California. Must have the ability to instill in the personal care staff, a sense of pride in the work they are doing, no mater how large or small the task.
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to infectious waste and disease (including HBV and HIV). Moves throughout facility during work day. Must be able to cope with emotional and hostile residents, families, guests, staff, and other visitors. Will be required to work after regular work hours, on holidays, and on weekends. May be required to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

Stethoscopes, B/P cuffs, digital or oral thermometers, syringes, scales, carts, scissors, copy machine, fax machine, telephones, pens, paper clips, plastic bags, refrigerators, gloves, walkie talkies.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
