As soon as possible About Allies for Allies Allies for Allies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects families of individuals with complex support needs to qualified, caring caregivers through our Care Platform. We're looking for a warm, patient caregiver to support a San Francisco family. About the Role We're seeking an after-school caregiver for a sweet 3-year-old boy with autism. He recently started public preschool, and he takes the school bus home each afternoon. The family lives in a small apartment where a parent works from home, so care happens out in the community: parks, libraries, playgrounds, and kid-friendly outings around the city. A list of activity ideas will be provided. He loves the park and is fascinated by the solar system. He has limited verbal language but works hard to tell you what he needs, so patience and attentiveness go a long way. Responsibilities Provide care from 2:00 to 5:30 PM. Plan and lead engaging outings such as parks, playgrounds, library visits, and sensory-friendly activities. Follow a predictable routine and use visual supports to help with transitions. Support communication by watching for cues and responding patiently. Provide safe transportation to and from activities. Share brief updates with the family at the end of each shift. Requirements A reliable car, a valid driver's license, and unexpired insurance. Experience caring for young children, ideally toddlers or preschoolers Patience, flexibility, and a calm, positive approach Ability to keep up with an active 3-year-old outdoors Willingness to learn and follow the family's routines and communication strategies Preferred Experience with autistic children or children with developmental delays Familiarity with therapy-supported routines such as OT, speech, PT, or feeding therapy CPR and First Aid certification How to Apply Apply through Indeed with your updated resume with documented relevant experience.
