Job Description
Are you a vibrant senior (roughly 40-70 years of age) and looking for meaningful work in Santa Cruz County? Seniors Helping Seniors® Santa Cruz & Gilroy is a new, non-medical home care provider that enables older seniors to remain in the home they love for as long as possible. We are seeking mature adults to join our team and provide a helping hand to seniors in the Santa Cruz, San Benito, and South Santa Clara County areas. With the belief that seniors can help one another age with independence, grace, and dignity in their own homes, we employ empathetic adults who can relate to the aging process, and match them with clients who share similar personality traits, experiences, and interests. As a result, our caregivers often benefit just as much as those they serve, enjoying new friendships and meaningful moments each day. If you have great customer service skills, a big heart, and a desire to have a positive impact on the lives of seniors, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Seniors Helping Seniors® Santa Cruz and Gilroy caregivers provide a wide range of in-home care services, including help around the house, transportation to appointments, and companionship. While some of these services require a specific skill set, the most important qualities are a compassionate heart and helpful spirit. Here are some of the ways our caregivers assist their senior companions: Engaging in friendly conversation Light housekeeping Cooking, shopping, and running errands Transportation to / from appointments and events Assisting with dementia and Alzheimer's care Personal care such as assisting with dressing, bathing, and toileting. Providing overnight care
Additional Responsibilities:
Arriving on time for all services Delivering health updates to family members Documenting all services provided using our care management system, WellSky. QualificationsAs a caregiver, you should be: A mature adult who is able to relate to the challenges our clients face throughout the aging process. Most of our caregivers are 50 years of age and older. Compassionate, reliable, and punctual Able to follow detailed instructions to execute our clients' care plans An excellent verbal and written communicator All caregivers must: Be registered with the California Home Care Aide Registry. If you are not currently registered, we will provide paid online training to get you registered.
