Job Description
Caregiver, Day Shift (7am to 7pm), 6-Bed Senior Home Walnut Creek, CA | $17 to $25/hr plus daily overtime Six residents. Two caregivers. No running down hallways. Inspired Assisted Living Walnut Creek is a licensed 6-bed residential care home, not a large facility. Day shift is staffed with two caregivers, so transfers, bathing, and the hard moments are shared instead of handled alone. You will care for the same small group of residents every shift and actually get to know them. Most caregivers who come to us from big facilities say the same thing: they finally have time to care for people instead of just getting through a task list. What we pay $17 to $25/hr depending on experience Every 12-hour shift includes 4 hours of overtime pay Three-day work week, four days off Double pay on holidays Free meals every shift 5 paid sick days Bonus program Schedule 7am to 7pm. What you'll do Help residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility Assist with medications per California RCFE rules (logging and reminders) Watch for changes in health, mood, or behavior and report them right away Prepare and serve meals, handle light housekeeping and laundry Spend real time with residents: conversation, activities, meals together Document care accurately and follow safety and infection control procedures What we need from you Ability to pass a DOJ/FBI background check, TB test, and physical CPR and First Aid certification (or get it within 30 days, we'll help) Able to safely lift and transfer residents (50 lbs) Reliable. Shows up on time, every time. Calm, patient, and kind, especially with residents living with dementia Nice to have, not required Prior caregiving experience in a care home or home care setting Dementia care training
