full-time Company Description East Valley CHARLEE is a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma?informed care to at?risk youth and families. The organization creates a safe, nurturing environment that supports emotional healing, personal growth, and long?term stability. A multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, social workers, and direct care staff collaborates to equip youth with practical skills for navigating life's challenges. Through individualized treatment plans, evidence?based interventions, and culturally inclusive practices, East Valley CHARLEE empowers clients to build resilience and strengthen relationships. Role Description The Direct Care Staff role is a part?time, on?site position located in Yucaipa, CA. Direct Care Staff members provide daily supervision, support, and guidance to youth in the residential program, helping maintain a safe and structured environment. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plan interventions, facilitating skill?building and recreational activities, and modeling positive, trauma?informed behavior. This role also involves monitoring and documenting client behavior, completing required reports, and communicating observations to the clinical and supervisory team. Direct Care Staff collaborate with other program staff, assist with crisis de?escalation, and support the overall emotional and physical well?being of youth in care. Qualifications Background in Human Services and experience supporting youth or vulnerable populations. Strong Communication skills, including clear documentation and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff. Excellent Interpersonal Skills for building rapport, maintaining professional boundaries, and providing trauma?informed support. Experience with Training or coaching youth in daily living skills, coping strategies, and pro?social behaviors. Understanding of Developmental Disabilities and the ability to adapt care approaches to individual needs. High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred. Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and follow de?escalation and safety protocols. Reliable attendance, willingness to work evenings/weekends/holidays as needed, and ability to pass required background checks.
