This rewarding position offers the opportunity to provide personalized care in a home setting, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for residents with diverse needs. As a live-in caregiver, you will be an integral part of creating a nurturing environment that promotes independence and well-being. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive personal care, including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, administering medication as prescribed, and updating care plans accordingly Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, ensuring safety and engagement through specialized techniques Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury during heavy lifting or mobility assistance Document all care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid or CPR when necessary, and coordinating with emergency services Requirements Proven experience in assisted living, home health, or long-term care environments; group home experience is highly valued Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, hospice care, autism spectrum disorders, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Certifications such as CPR, first aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications prior to employment Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when required Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams Demonstrated compassion, patience, and dedication to providing high-quality resident-centered care This position is paid and offers an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring long-term support.
