Performs various activities necessary in caring for the individual needs, safety and education of the residents. Minimum one year experience working with the developmentally disabled, adult day training center or in an educational setting with care-giving/hygiene responsibilities. Previous experience in an educational setting with care-giving preferred. Proficient in computer software required. Associate Degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required. A valid Florida Drivers License is required. Minimum age is 21. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds. Complies with all agency policies and procedures. Attends all training's/in-services assigned. Maintains accurate and timely data and records as assigned. Maintain observation and engagement in a quality and safe level of care for residents in area assigned. Ascertain the residents' needs through body interpretation, file data and/or vocal communication. Conducts training such as self care, personal advancement and daily living skills. Communicates medical needs and concerns with nursing staff and administer medication in accordance with procedures and as the situation dictates. Performs routine household functions such as serving meals, personal care and housekeeping as needed. Provides transportation, as assigned, for community outings. Provides supervision and engagement in structured learning activities using educational materials for group participation, this may include off-site activities. Engage in leading educational and skill centered activities and sessions in a professional and organized manner. Plan and implement training opportunities and programs.
