Community Hospice and Palliative Care, a leading non-profit organization specializing in end-of-life healthcare, is hiring a full-time Hospice Aide CNA to join our growing team. The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, hands-on personal care to terminally ill patients in various settings. The aide supports patient comfort, dignity, and safety while adhering to the established plan of care. The role involves direct care tasks, assisting with mobility, and supporting family caregivers, with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and across different care sites as needed.
Position Details Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00am -5:00pm, full-time position; occasional nights and/or weekends. No PRN/Part-time hours available; only FT.
Work Location :
Home Care; Lake City/Columbia County and surrounding areas
Compensation :
Base salary $17.00 - $18.00 hour, plus driving mileage (usually an extra $5,000-12,000 annual); full benefits package including 23 days
PTO Job Description:
Perform hands-on personal care, including procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services. Provide assistance in ambulation or exercises. Provide assistance in administering medications that are ordinarily self-administered. Reports any changes in patient's medical, nursing, rehabilitative, and social needs to a registered nurse, as the changes relate to the plan of care and quality assessment and improvement activities. Completes appropriate records in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures. Teaches and trains family/caregiver proper techniques to meet the personal care needs of the patient. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Attends team meetings and participate in other agency meetings as directed. Maintains a minimum of twelve (12) hours of training/education specific to position annually. Must be available to work holidays and weekends as required by Community Hospice policy; other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent, minimum. CNA license (current); State of Florida. Florida driver's license with driving record acceptable to Community Hospice's insurance carrier. Current CPR/BLS certification. Passed Level II AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration) background screen Prior Experience Six (6) months experience either homecare, hospital, and/or long term care. Experience in hospice or terminal care strongly preferred.
