Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companion to provide exceptional support and companionship to individuals in various care settings. This vital role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being through personalized care. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive attitude to enhance the quality of life for those they serve. Whether working in a home environment, assisted living facility, or group home, you will play a key role in fostering independence and comfort for your clients. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as required Support medication administration following care plans and protocols established by healthcare professionals Engage residents in social activities and conversations to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Maintain a clean and safe environment through routine cleaning tasks, laundry assistance, and organizing personal belongings Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities, including memory care techniques and behavioral support Qualifications Prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or health issues Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required; additional training in Alzheimer's care or hospice care is a plus Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient handling and mobility assistance Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams, residents, families, and other caregivers Demonstrated compassion, patience, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous Join us in making a meaningful difference every day!
