As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for those in your care while fostering a warm and respectful environment. Duties Provide comprehensive personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs, observe changes in health status, and accurately document patient conditions in care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect privacy. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including meal preparation, medication administration, and light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Support residents with memory care needs related to dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized techniques in dementia care and memory support strategies. Facilitate patient transfer methods safely using appropriate equipment like patient lifts and ensure proper patient monitoring during all activities. Offer emotional support and effective communication tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration procedures, first aid, CPR certification, and basic nursing skills. Experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts; manual handling skills are essential. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Demonstrated ability to follow care plans meticulously and adapt to the unique needs of each individual under your care. Flexibility to work full-time hours including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends; reliable transportation is beneficial.
