Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients by delivering personalized care tailored to their unique needs. As an In Home Caregiver, you will promote independence, safety, and comfort while fostering trusting relationships with clients and their families. This position is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about caregiving and committed to enhancing quality of life through attentive, respectful service. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity. Support patients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to promote safety. Monitor vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions or preferences while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Administer medications accurately following care plans and document medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. Assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment within the home. Support clients during medical appointments or community outings by providing personal transportation assistance. Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, manual handling procedures, and infection control standards. Maintain detailed records of care provided, patient observations, and communication with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications Prior experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and medication administration. Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting safely and effectively using proper techniques. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare providers while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to home health or geriatrics are a plus. Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities supports success in this role. Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate personal care assistance in a home setting. Valid driver's license or reliable transportation for client outings may be necessary depending on assignment needs.
