Direct Service Provider (DSP) - Residential Group Home Assured Living | Ocoee, Florida Assured Living is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional Direct Service Provider (DSP) to provide direct care and support to adults with developmental disabilities in our residential group home. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive home environment that promotes independence, dignity, community involvement, and quality of life. Responsibilities The Direct Service Provider will assist residents with their daily routines and individualized support needs, including: Providing supervision, support, and companionship to residents Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care as needed Supporting residents with household routines and independent-living skills Preparing and assisting with nutritious meals Providing or assisting with transportation to appointments, activities, community outings, and other scheduled destinations Assisting with medication administration or supervision when appropriately trained and authorized Following each resident's Support Plan, Implementation Plan, Behavior Plan, and other applicable care instructions Completing required documentation accurately and timely Monitoring resident health, safety, and well-being Reporting incidents, concerns, suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation according to APD requirements Assisting with housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe home environment Encouraging resident choice, independence, socialization, and community participation Communicating professionally with residents, families, Waiver Support Coordinators, supervisors, and other members of the resident's support team Following Assured Living policies and all applicable Florida APD requirements Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Be 18 years of age or older Possess a high school diploma or GED/equivalent Be able to successfully complete and maintain the required Florida APD Level 2 Background Screening/Clearinghouse eligibility Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals with developmental disabilities, families, coworkers, and members of the support team Be physically capable of safely performing assigned direct-care responsibilities Be dependable, patient, respectful, and able to maintain professional boundaries Be able to follow written Support Plans, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements Experience Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience working in one or more of the following settings: Developmental disabilities Group homes or residential care Direct support services Healthcare or nursing Behavioral or mental-health services Psychiatric settings Childcare or other qualifying direct-care environments Relevant college, vocational, or technical education in areas such as special education, mental health, counseling, social work, healthcare, or rehabilitative services may satisfy applicable APD experience requirements. Candidates who do not yet have one year of qualifying experience may still be considered if they can meet APD requirements for supervised employment and training. training Incident Reporting HIV/AIDS/Infection Control, as applicable CPR and First Aid Person-centered services and required documentation Medication Administration and Medication Validation, if responsible for assisting with or administering medications Behavior-plan and/or behavioral emergency procedure training when required for residents served Any additional APD or Assured Living training applicable to the position Some required training may be completed after hire within APD-required timeframes. Zero Tolerance and required background-screening eligibility must be completed before the employee is permitted to provide unsupervised/direct services as applicable. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities Current APD/Train Florida training certificates Current CPR/First Aid certification Current Medication Administration certification/validation Experience working in an APD-licensed group home Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation Strong attendance and dependability Ability to work independently while following established policies and resident support plans Schedule Assured Living provides 24-hour residential services , so applicants should be willing to work assigned shifts, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays depending upon staffing needs.
