Job Description

Lockmar Elementary School is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant for their students with special needs.
BEGINNING SALARY
Based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees: Grade 16 $15.95 per hour
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
To assist students with disabilities with classroom activities, modifications, transportation, and personal care needs as directed by the teacher. This person is assigned to one (1) or more students with unique needs and may be required to move with student(s) if the school site changes.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required. 2. Experience in working with children. 3. Experience in working with persons with disabilities. 4. Strong desire to work one-on-one with a student. 5. Valid Florida Driver License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to work effectively with children and teachers. Willingness to learn the unique educational and/or personal needs to assist a student with a disability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
