Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those living with dementia, your energetic and caring approach will foster a positive environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while contributing to a supportive community. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols in compliance with healthcare regulations Support residents' emotional and social needs through engaging activities, conversation, and companionship Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met Assist with meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate pertinent information to healthcare teams Requirements Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavior management strategies Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license for transportation duties if required for community outings or appointments Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks including lifting, transferring residents using Hoyer lifts, and standing for extended periods Join us in providing exceptional care that enhances quality of life!
