Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and care for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children. Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, learning, and fun. Ensure safety by adhering to childhood development best practices, behavior management techniques, and mandated reporting laws when necessary. Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, bathing, and nap times for infants and toddlers. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, activities, and any concerns that arise. Support children with disabilities or special needs by adapting activities to meet individual requirements and fostering an inclusive environment. Maintain a clean, organized environment that complies with health and safety standards including first aid and CPR protocols. Skills Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs. Proven ability to care for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children through classroom experience or babysitting. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training preferred. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration. Ability to plan age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning and socialization. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare. Previous experience in daycare settings, nannying, or youth programs teaching young children is highly desirable.
