Resident Assistant Reports to:
Wellness Director Summary:
The Resident Assistant will provide warm and engaging personal care services, assistance, and support to all residents within the Galerie Management community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists residents with all activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, mobility- as directed by their individual service plans Monitors changes in residents' status and personal care needs; documents observations and advises supervisors and/or clinical associates as appropriate Assists in the development and updating of Resident Care Plans Encourages resident participation in scheduled life enrichment activities Assists with laundry and light housekeeping tasks as directed Monitors the community and takes appropriate action to keep the environment safe, clean, and attractive for residents, guests, and co-workers Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and Galerie Management's policies and procedures. This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position. It is not intended to represent a comprehensive list of responsibilities. Education and Duties:
Must be at least 18 years of age and have either a High School Diploma or GED An active Certified Nursing Assistant license is preferred for this position but not required
Knowledge and Skills:
Can follow written or verbal instructions Ability to read and comprehend resident care plans Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, residents' families, and other associates of the company Uses good judgment in emergency situations and gets help when needed
Working Conditions:
Specific physical requirements are outlined in accordance with the American Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) Requires interaction with coworkers, residents or vendors Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage 100% time spent on site in community setting Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections Exposure to latex Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens Possible exposure to various drugs, chemical, infectious, or biological hazards
