Job Summary We are looking for a kind, patient, and dependable CSW / Personal Support Provider to support a school aged child in Kuna, Idaho. This is an entry level friendly, part time position with guaranteed hours. The role includes support with online school classes, community activities, social engagement, independence, companionship, and respite care. No teaching or tutoring is required. The CSW will help the child navigate his online classes, get started with tasks, work through challenges, and take breaks when needed. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is open to learning about autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and autonomy based support. Example Schedule The schedule alternates between two weeks. Example Week A Monday 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM Wednesday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Friday 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM Example Week B Monday 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM Wednesday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Friday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Saturday 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM Optional Sunday hours may also be available for additional support. Sunday support may include spending time with the child while the parent handles cleaning, errands, household responsibilities, or other personal needs. Average guaranteed hours are approximately 12.5 hours per week, with additional Sunday hours available when needed. Hours are guaranteed except for mutually discussed holidays, family vacations, or times when the family is out of town. What You'll Do Support the child during online school classes Help with the laptop and online learning platforms Help him understand what he needs to do next Break tasks into manageable steps when needed Provide support when he becomes stuck or overwhelmed Encourage participation without forcing compliance Offer choices and allow flexibility in how activities are approached Support community activities, outings, recreation, and social opportunities Encourage independence and confidence Provide companionship and engage in age appropriate activities and play Provide evening and weekend respite care Assist with transportation to and from activities when appropriate Communicate with the parent about relevant needs, successes, or concerns What We're Looking For Entry level applicants are welcome Someone who is patient, kind, flexible, and dependable Someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children Willingness to learn about autism and PDA Comfortable using a laptop and navigating online school classes Comfortable working independently Reliable transportation for community outings and transportation between locations Ability to commit to the established alternating schedule Ability to successfully complete the required background check before beginning services Pickup and Transportation For weekday afternoon shifts, the child can either be picked up in Meridian at 3:00 PM or dropped off at the family's home in Kuna at 3:00 PM. The CSW may begin the shift from Meridian if they prefer to pick up the child there. Reliable transportation is required for community outings and transportation between locations when needed. Compensation Authorized CSW hours are paid through the Family Directed / Consumer Direct support program at the applicable rate of $16.00 to $16.99 per hour. For evening and weekend shifts where care includes the child's younger sibling, the family will provide an additional $1.00 to $2.00 per hour family paid premium for those hours. About the Approach This position is centered around connection, trust, and collaboration. The child does best with an approach that gives him appropriate choices and a sense of control rather than relying on pressure or demands. You do not need to have experience with PDA. We are happy to help the right person learn what works best for him. The most important qualities are kindness, patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in building a positive relationship with a child.
