The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of personal care chemicals from domestic and international suppliers. This role supports business operations by maintaining supplier relationships, evaluating market conditions, monitoring inventory needs, and implementing purchasing strategies that ensure product availability, quality, and cost effectiveness. - Source and purchase personal care chemicals from domestic and international suppliers.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, service, pricing, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost-effective procurement and support business objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply, product quality, and favorable business terms.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and new product developments to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to support product availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Coordinate with logistics personnel and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of purchased materials.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory teams to ensure purchased materials meet company standards and applicable requirements.
- Analyze purchasing data and reports to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other internal departments to align purchasing strategies with business objectives and customer needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably within the chemical, personal care, or related industry.
- Knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management, and inventory planning.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to analyze purchasing data, inventory trends, and supplier performance metrics.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to personal care chemicals is preferred. Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and scanners.
- Requires the ability to review purchasing reports, supplier documentation, contracts, and electronic records.
- Occasional travel may be required to visit suppliers, attend industry events, or support business needs.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:
