Overview Join our compassionate team as an In Home Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring personalized care and support. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on assistance with daily activities, monitor health and safety, and foster a comfortable, respectful environment for clients. Your dedication will help promote independence, dignity, and well-being within the comfort of their own homes or community settings. This position offers an engaging opportunity to deliver high-quality care while building trusting relationships with those you serve. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor patients' vital signs, observe changes in health status, and report findings accurately to healthcare teams in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with medication administration following care plans and safety protocols. Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care strategies and providing personalized engagement activities. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments or community outings while ensuring safety during transfers and travel. Document patient progress, update care plans regularly, and communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions closely and respond appropriately to changes in health status. Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer's/dementia care, autism support, developmental disabilities assistance, and neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling methods; experience operating patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation; understanding of HIPAA privacy standards is essential. Valid certifications in CPR and first aid; additional training in hospice care or home & community care is beneficial.
