Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper manual handling and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and observe patients for changes in condition, behavior, or health status, documenting findings accurately while respecting resident's rights and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption to support residents' dietary needs and preferences. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to care plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, laundry, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health standards. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or outings using appropriate personal transportation methods. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction, including experience working with individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders. Follow established care plans diligently while providing compassionate patient personal care assistance tailored to each individual's requirements. Support residents during medical procedures such as vital signs monitoring (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and first aid when necessary. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care delivery focused on resident safety and comfort. Experience Prior experience working as a Personal Care Aide or in a similar caregiving role within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and hospice care practices. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration procedures, and patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities supports your ability to provide specialized care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times. Hands-on experience supporting residents with complex needs such as geriatrics or chronic conditions enhances your effectiveness in this role. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in manual handling or heavy lifting is advantageous.
