Job Description

This position works in a residential setting and involves assisting individuals-served in becoming self-sufficient, self-advocating, self-driven, self-actualized individuals. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to ensure the house is clean, properly stocked with food and supplies, assisting individuals-served to achieve their daily personal goals, provide structure and emotional support, assist in resolving behavioral issues, assist individuals with personal care and hygiene, correctly dispense medication, complete detailed and accurate documentation as needed, and transport individuals-served to and from assigned locations. Cooking and housekeeping also required. Qualifications/Requirements High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of comparable work experience. Must have a valid driver's licenses and a clear driving record. Must have cleared and approved criminal record check and must have legal status in the U.S. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English effectively. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel. Able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work independently. Pass all VIPQS mandatory background checks. Successfully complete all VIPQS mandatory training.
Physical Requirements:
Must have ability to travel among assigned sites. Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit, and walk for periods of time. Must be able to stand for eight (8) hours at a time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently, at a time and assist with a two person lift of an adult. Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics if and when physical assistance with individual-served(s) is needed.
