Job Description
No Worry Home is looking for an experienced, highly skilled T otal Home Care Technician to join our growing team. This is not a traditional handyman or maintenance position . We are looking for someone with at least 10-15 years of hands-on residential experience — and ideally more — who understands how homes work and has developed the judgment to recognize potential problems before they become major issues. We are willing to consider part-time and full-time applicants. But we are only interested in applicants who live in the greater Boston area. Our technicians don't simply arrive at a home with a list of repairs to complete. A core part of the job is proactively evaluating the home, identifying maintenance needs and potential problems the homeowner may not even know exist, and helping our customers take care of their homes in a thoughtful and preventive way. About No Worry Home No Worry Home provides comprehensive home maintenance and handyman services to homeowners throughout Greater Boston. Our members rely on us to be their trusted partner for taking care of their homes. Our technicians visit customers' homes on a regular schedule. During each visit, they perform preventive maintenance, complete handyman projects, inspect the home for potential issues, and identify items that may require attention from one of our specialist partners. We provide No Worry Home vans to our technicians. Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate has spent many years working in and around residential homes and has developed a broad understanding of home systems and construction. You might have a background in residential construction, remodeling, property maintenance, home inspection, carpentry, or another skilled trade. More important than a particular job title is the breadth of your experience and your ability to walk through a home and recognize when something doesn't look or function the way it should. We're looking for someone who is naturally observant and curious — the kind of person who notices a water stain, an improperly draining gutter, deteriorating caulk, an unusual sound from a mechanical system, a loose railing, or another potential problem and wants to understand what's causing it.
Qualifications Successful candidates should have:
At least 10-15 years of hands-on residential construction, maintenance, repair or related experience. More experience is strongly preferred. Broad knowledge of residential homes, their systems and how the various components of a home work together. Basic hands-on skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC , with the ability to handle a wide variety of common household maintenance and repair tasks. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. The experience and judgment to identify problems and maintenance needs that have not already been pointed out by the homeowner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Our technicians spend their days in customers' homes and must be comfortable explaining issues and recommendations clearly and professionally. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A demonstrated history of reliability and professionalism. The ability to consistently arrive on time for scheduled customer appointments. Reliability is extremely important to us and to our customers. A current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Authorization to work in the United States. What Makes Someone Successful at No Worry Home Technical ability is important, but it's only part of the job. Our best technicians become trusted advisors to our homeowners . Customers need to feel confident that the person walking through their home knows what to look for, will tell them when something needs attention, won't recommend unnecessary work, and will follow through on commitments. That requires experience, good judgment, integrity, communication skills and genuine pride in taking care of people's homes. If you've spent many years working on houses and have reached the point where you can often spot a problem before a homeowner even knows there's a problem , we'd like to talk with you. Why No Worry Home? No Worry Home offers experienced tradespeople an opportunity to use the knowledge they've accumulated over their careers in a different kind of environment. Instead of spending every day on a construction site or performing the same specialized task over and over, you'll work with a variety of homes and customers, solve different problems every day, and develop ongoing relationships with homeowners who value your expertise. You'll be part of a growing company built around a simple idea: homeowners shouldn't have to worry about whether their homes are being properly maintained. That's our job.Pay:
