A private family in Newton, Massachusetts is hiring a small, long-term team of caregivers and companions for our 82-year-old mother. We pay well above agency rates, on legal W-2 payroll, because we want people worth keeping for years. About her She is originally from Kerala and lives in her own home in Newton. She is warm, sharp-witted, and independent in most of her daily routine; she does not need heavy hands-on nursing care. Her memory has begun to change, and we want someone kind nearby through the day and night.

A typical day is unhurried:

breakfast and conversation, help with meals (she lights up for Kerala food), light tidying, a walk or a drive to run errands, visit a friend, or attend a weekend service. The roles Daytime companion and caregiver, $28 to $50 per hour, 6 to 12 hour shifts. Companionship, meals and cooking, light housekeeping, medication reminders, outings and appointments. Driving her (your car or ours) is a major plus. Overnight presence, flat nightly rate. Sleep comfortably in a private room and be there if she wakes and needs reassurance.
