Job Description
Direct Care Provider
- Part Time Instructor The Baroco Corporation Part-time | 27.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 9a-3p- Company Overview The Baroco Corporation provides high-quality programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We focus on skill-building, independence, and community integration while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Position Summary The Instructor role focuses on consumer training, skill development, and case management. The position involves direct support, behavioral management, and program implementation to help individuals achieve independence and participate fully in their community.
- Key Responsibilities Training Program Development & Implementation
- Conduct consumer assessments and develop individualized training programs.
- Implement skill-building programs according to DHSP/IP plans.
- Develop teaching materials, lesson plans, and strategies for skill acquisition.
- Collaborate with consultants, interdisciplinary teams (IDT), and other professionals. Documentation
- Maintain Permanent Records and Work Files (Work Files CT only).
- Participate in case reviews and IDT meetings, providing progress updates.
- Complete all documentation and reporting accurately and on time. Behavioral & Direct Support
- Implement behavior modification plans and collect behavioral data.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), lifting up to 60 lbs, and mobility support.
- Intervene in medical and behavioral emergencies, including restraints.
- Supervise consumer services, activities, and goal achievement. Community Integration
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise community and volunteer outings.
- Transport consumers using company vehicles. Professional & Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and adherence to policies.
- Follow all OSHA, safety, and company guidelines.
- Assist with staff orientation and special projects.
- (CT only) Obtain Medication Administration Certification and pass medications.
- Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year direct care experience with adults with IDD preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple individuals in classroom or community settings.
- Physical ability to support ADLs, transfers, and emergency interventions.
