Job Description

Maryland In-Home CaregiverJob Overview We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated In-Home Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to clients in their homes. The caregiver will assist with activities of daily living, monitor client well-being, promote independence, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment. The ideal candidate must be authorized and appropriately licensed or certified to provide the services required for this position in the State of Maryland and must be able to meet all applicable Maryland and agency requirements. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Provide safe transfers and mobility assistance, including use of a Hoyer lift when required. Take and accurately document vital signs , including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, and oxygen saturation when applicable. Administer medications when necessary Observe clients for changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition and promptly report significant changes to the appropriate nurse, supervisor, or healthcare professional. Complete daily progress notes and care documentation through the agency's online electronic portal as required. Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, professional, and consistent with the client's care plan. Follow the established plan of care and agency policies and procedures. Assist with medication-related tasks only as permitted by the caregiver's training, certification, delegation, care plan, and applicable Maryland requirements. Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and client preferences. Provide companionship and emotional support. Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment. Assist with transportation and community activities when required. Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA and agency privacy requirements. Communicate professionally with clients, family members, nurses, healthcare providers, and supervisors. Required Qualifications Current Maryland license or certification/authorization applicable to the position and services being provided. medTECH CERT- Licensed/certified to administer medication Ability to provide documentation verifying current Maryland credentials and eligibility to work in the assigned care setting. Ability to take, record, and report vital signs accurately . Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer to access an online care/documentation portal . Ability to complete required progress notes and care documentation electronically and in a timely manner. Previous experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, home health, or a similar healthcare setting preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certification , when required for the position. Ability to safely perform patient transfers and assist with mobility. Strong communication, observation, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Dependable, compassionate, professional, and respectful. Ability to maintain client confidentiality. Ability to work independently and follow the client's plan of care. Preferred Experience Dementia and Alzheimer's care Hospice and end-of-life care Memory care Autism and developmental disabilities Hoyer lift and other transfer equipment Vital-sign monitoring Electronic health records or online caregiver documentation systems Experience communicating with nurses, physicians, family members, and other healthcare professionals Schedule Candidates must be willing to work day, evening, overnight, weekend, and/or holiday shifts , depending on client needs and availability. Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
