Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Support residents with mobility using proper patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both client and caregiver. Administer medications following prescribed care plans and document medication administration meticulously. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and sanitation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. Assist with transportation needs for medical appointments or community activities while ensuring client safety during travel. Follow all protocols related to home health care, hospice care, memory care, and resident-specific care plans to deliver consistent quality service. Qualifications Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification is essential. Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer's/dementia care, autism support, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities support, and geriatrics enhances your effectiveness in this role. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
