Job Description
Job Summary Islamic Home Care of America is hiring reliable and compassionate caregivers to provide non-medical, in-home support to seniors and adults in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. We offer non-medical personal care services (assisting with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being) with additional Islamic care services (assisting with daily prayers, ensuring compliance with halal dietary needs, and more) for Muslim families. We welcome caregivers of all backgrounds who are aligned with our values of dignity, respect, and compassion. Responsibilities Help clients with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene) Prepare and serve meals with attention to halal and medical dietary needs Provide companionship and emotional support Help with mobility and safe transfers (e.g., bed to chair) Perform light housekeeping and home organization Give medication reminders Assist with daily prayer routines or religious observances (as needed) Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or walks Document daily activities and any significant changes in clients' conditions Qualifications A compassionate and dependable nature Prior caregiving experience, HHA or CNA license preferred, but not required Familiarity with Islamic culture is a plus, willingness to learn is welcomed Comfortable providing care in clients' private homes Reliable transportation & valid driver's license to travel to client's private home Physically capable of performing caregiving tasks CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to get certified) High school diploma or GED Ability to pass background screening Strong communication and problem-solving skills Must be 18 or older Ready to Apply?
