Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Aide to join our vibrant healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support and assistance to residents in a variety of care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained. Support residents with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition tailored to individual dietary needs. Support residents during outings or appointments by driving or accompanying them safely using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties within resident rooms and common areas. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans that promote independence and well-being. Utilize your knowledge of assisted living, home & community care experience, group home operations, and long-term care practices to deliver comprehensive support. Skills Proven experience in nursing homes, retirement homes, or personal care homes with a strong understanding of senior care principles. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of health deterioration. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and EMR systems for documentation purposes. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support. First aid certification along with CPR training to respond effectively in emergencies. Skilled in assisting with ADLs using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts; comfortable with mobility support tasks. Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication to foster trusting relationships with residents. Ability to work independently or as part of a team within assisted living or home & community care environments. Strong cleaning skills to maintain hygienic living spaces that meet safety standards.
