Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and comfort. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption, accommodating special dietary needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia-specific diets. Facilitate safe patient transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts to prevent injury. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Document patient observations, care provided, and any changes in condition accurately in compliance with healthcare standards. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings to promote social engagement and independence. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and supporting residents with neurodevelopmental or intellectual disabilities. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; capable of heavy lifting when necessary. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly valued. Ability to assist with ADLs such as personal hygiene, grooming, mobility support, and meal preparation. First aid and CPR certification to respond confidently during emergencies. Understanding of resident's rights and the importance of providing respectful, person-centered care in geriatrics and hospice settings.
