Autumn House is hiring Care Aides! Full-Time/Part-Time Positions Available. Sign On Bonus! Every other weekend required!
Purpose:
Provides direct care to residents while adhering to their support plan and assisting with activities of daily living. Provides support in a manner that promotes growth, health, safety, dignity and respect for individuals. Collaborates and communicates with co-workers and supports team to promote a positive and productive working environment. Contributes to the day-to-day operation of the home, in a safe and cost-efficient manner. Identifies opportunities for improvement and actively participates in their implementation.
Essential Functions- Job Duties:
The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the following duties: Provide support in all areas of daily living as needed by individuals, this may include lifting individuals, assisting in transferring, or moving wheelchairs Support individuals in obtaining the best quality of life possible by adhering to the resident's support plan. Where assistance is requested/required to support individuals in making choices, advocate for him/her in areas of needs and wants Assist individuals in developing new relationships and supporting existing relationships Interacting and communicating in a manner that is respectful toward all individuals Creating an environment and conducts activities in a manner that ensures health and safety of individuals Developing and using effective communication with each individual using a style suited to the individual Communicating in a positive and productive manner at all times with co-workers, families/guardians and the public Providing a positive role model for individuals and co-workers Supporting co-workers and actively participates in team process. Providing complete, accurate and timely documentation Performing tasks that contribute to the day to day operation of the home (such as cooking, cleaning, laundry) Performing tasks in accordance with Cardinal AFC Policies and Procedures and that of other regulatory bodies, (CMH, AAA, Reliance, AFC Licensing, Recipient Rights, etc.) Maintaining the home in safe manner. Fixes or notifies someone, i.e., supervisor of any safety or maintenance issues Performs other duties as requested by supervisory staff.
Secondary Functions- Job Duties:
The following are secondary to the essential functions listed above: Attend and participates in staff meetings, projects, special events, committees, and mandatory training as appropriate. Completes competency evaluations for training as required by the state or as assigned by their immediate supervisor, HR Director, or Executive Director. Maintains safety and health rules by participating in training along with implementing and following protocols related to
OSHA & CDC
regulations and Cardinal Senior Management Standards as required. Promotes and encourages individualized resident independence while maintaining resident dignity, individuality, confidentiality and following infection control policies. Follow all applicable state regulations. Job Requirements Education & Knowledge Requirements- Specific education, certification, and licensure: High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred Individuals in this position must have obtained age eighteen (18) prior to first day of employment or transfer into position Current First Aid and CPR/AED Certification, or willingness to be trained by Cardinal Senior Management during employment.
Essential Job-Related Experience/Abilities:
Ability to complete the necessary physical movements to move residents by wheel chair Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language Ability to walk continuously, bend frequently, and sit occasionally Ability to lift up to fifty(50) pounds occasionally (1-33% of workday) Ability to complete and maintain documentation regarding a resident's status Exposure to
Hazardous Conditions:
Exposure to blood and body fluids is continuous Exposure to cleaning chemicals is occasional
Preferred Job-Related Experience/Abilities/Education:
Valid Driver's License One (1) year experience in the long-term care industry
