• Must be able to provide CPR and First Aid
• Must have an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to physically manage a client in order to ensure the safety of that resident or others
• Must have a HS Diploma, GED and/or proven ability to read and write
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to meet all requirements set forth by MI Adult Foster Care Rules including suitability to meet the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of each resident.

Core Duties:

Assist the resident with or performs basic personal care and grooming that may include bathing, hair care, assistance with clothing and dressing, oral care, bathroom assistance, and basic skin and nail care. Assist with bladder or bowel requirements, which may include helping the resident to and from the bathroom, assisting with incontinent care, or assisting the client with bedpan routines. Assist the resident with physician ordered medications that are ordinarily self-administered. Assist with self-administration of routine eye care (caregiver must complete the Medication Assistance class before performing this task). Refill as needed. Responsible for documentation on med sheets. Assist with food, nutrition, and diet activities including meal preparation. Assist with non-nasogastric gastrostomy tube feedings. (Requires special instructions from a RN). Assist with housekeeping tasks which include, but are not limited to, changing bed linens, rearrange furniture, laundry, sweep, mop, vacuum, make bed, dishes, empty trash, clean refrigerator, clean small appliances, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen, etc. Assist with turning, positioning, and getting clients into and out of bed. Assist with ambulation and exercise. Assist with transferring residents with assistive devices such as gait belt, walker, wheelchair, etc. Take, measure, and record vital signs, height and weight. Observes and reports signs of disability, illness, and change in condition or behavior in the residents. Daily charting of tasks completed on progress notes. Keep utility areas, wheelchairs and shower rooms in order. Clean equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and etc. Meets safety needs by reporting environmental hazards, observance of infection control measures, and oxygen safety. Perform maintenance exercise regimens.

Pay:

$16.50 - $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 - 40.0 per week
