Job Description

A very sweet family in Mount Vernon is looking for a caregiver to spend 8 hours a week with their loved one, a warm and lovely woman, so they can get a well-earned break. Your time together would be simple and meaningful: good company and conversation, making lunch, and keeping the house tidy. There is no personal care in this role. The schedule is 8 hours a week: either one 8-hour day on Mondays, or 4 hours on Mondays and 4 hours on Wednesdays. We will settle it with you and the family. This is W-2 employment with Caring Companions, not contract work. You are paid weekly, and orientation and training are provided before you start. If you are patient, kind and reliable, and you would enjoy being the bright spot in someone's week, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities Provide friendly companionship and conversation Prepare lunch and help with the meal Do light housekeeping: dishes, tidying, and laundry as needed Notice and report any change in how she is doing Clock in and out on AxisCare and finish your notes before the end of each visit Protect the family's privacy, property and confidentiality Qualifications Be at least 18 years old Pass all required background screenings Have reliable transportation to Mount Vernon and a working phone Complete orientation, onboarding, dementia and Alzheimer's training, and annual in-service training Be patient, kind and dependable Be comfortable working in a client's home Benefits W-2 employment, not a contractor arrangement Paid weekly Paid orientation and training A steady, predictable schedule
