Schedule:

2 days per week, approximately 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, with some flexibility A family in Goldsboro is looking for a kind, compassionate, patient, and trustworthy person to spend a few days each week with a 74-year-old woman and provide companionship and extra support around the home. She has dementia, diabetes, and has been having some difficulty sleeping. She lives at home with her husband, who is independent and does not need care. No bathing, toileting, or other personal care is needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with others and wants to make a positive difference in someone's day. The ideal person will be warm, friendly, dependable, patient, and trustworthy, and able to meet her where she is each day.

Responsibilities May Include:

Cooking and preparing meals and snacks for the couple throughout the week Taking her to appointments, such as hair and nail appointments Going out for lunch, shopping, or other fun outings Going for walks and encouraging gentle activity Helping water and trim plants Light tidying around the house, such as loading and unloading the dishwasher Providing companionship, conversation, and encouragement Helping with various small tasks that come up throughout the week More than anything, the family is looking for someone who will treat her with kindness, dignity, patience, and respect . Dementia can make some days easier than others, so having someone who is understanding, calm, flexible, and able to roll with the unexpected is incredibly important.
