Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Caregiver to join our team, providing essential support and personalized care to individuals in various care settings. This role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive on making a positive difference in people's lives. As a caregiver, you will assist with daily activities, monitor health and safety, and foster a supportive environment that promotes dignity and independence. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships while gaining valuable experience in healthcare and senior care. This position requires you to travel from one client to another potentially so you must be willing to travel and have reliable means of transportation. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition, ensuring adherence to care plans. Support mobility through patient transfer methods such as manual handling techniques, ensuring safety at all times. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Document patient observations, care activities, and any changes in condition accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients, fostering a positive atmosphere that respects their rights and dignity. Run errands for client which could include grocery shopping, doctors appointments, shopping, etc... Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication reminders, vital signs monitoring, and first aid/CPR certification. Familiarity with care equipment including patient transfer methods, and memory/dementia care strategies such as Alzheimer's care. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks while adhering to safety guidelines. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams. Experience working within home health or hospice care environments is advantageous.
