POSITION SUMMARY
The Personal Care Attendant works under the direction and supervision of the Resident Care Manager. It is the overall responsibility of every Personal Care Attendant to provide personalized care and assistance to residents in a compassionate and respectful manner. The Personal Care Attendant contributes to creating a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide personalized care and assistance to residents in accordance with their individual needs and care plans. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support residents in mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and well-being. Monitor and document vital signs, ensuring accuracy and appropriate reporting. Assist with medication administration to residents as directed and accurately document medication observations in the electronic Medication Administration Record (EMAR). Report any medication errors or omissions to the Resident Care Manager and complete a Medication Error Report. Reorder medications and supplies as needed, ensuring proper inventory management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of medication carts, ensuring proper storage and handling of medications following recommended guidelines. Assist with treatments and therapies as ordered and directed by the Resident Care Manager. Maintain a clean and hygienic living environment for residents, performing housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, tidying, and organizing resident rooms and common areas. Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding, adhering to dietary guidelines and residents' preferences. Document and complete Monthly Summary reports for each assigned resident. Record incidents, abnormal behaviors, or notable activities in the resident record (PCC), communication log and during shift change, using appropriate and acceptable language. Inform the Resident Care Manager of entries. Promptly report any reportable incidents, illnesses, or injuries to the Resident Care Manager or designee, and complete Incident Reports as required. Check communication devices such as fax machines and telephones during each shift, promptly informing the Resident Care Manager of any urgent matters beyond your scope of handling. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assisted Living & Memory Care Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Age:
Minimum 18 years. The ability to read, write, and understand the English language. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. A passion for working with the elderly. Sound judgment and maturity. Ability to work as a contributing member of a team. Upbeat and cheerful demeanor. Demonstrated ability to follow directions. Must not have any felony convictions or ever have been convicted of abuse, assault, neglect, or exploitation.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
The Personal Care Attendant may be exposed to infectious diseases, viruses and illnesses as a result of employment. The facility will provide the hepatitis B vaccination free of charge. Physical demands may include lifting up to 50 pounds. The position requires the ability to perform tasks that involve bending, standing, and walking for extended periods. The Personal Care Attendant may be exposed to environmental factors such as infectious diseases or hazardous substances, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The typical work schedule may involve variations, shift work, or on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays. Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to the work environment, including health and safety standards, is essential.
