Responsibilities Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes or signs of distress Administer medication as prescribed and document all medication administration accurately Support residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities through behavior management and memory care techniques Ensure resident safety by practicing safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas to promote a hygienic environment Respond promptly to residents' needs during the night, including assisting with toileting, repositioning, and emergency situations Experience Candidates should bring prior experience in caregiving roles such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly valued. Familiarity with geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care enhances your ability to provide specialized support. Additional qualifications include CPR and first aid certification, experience in medication administration, safe patient lifting practices, and knowledge of resident's rights. Strong communication skills for client interaction and group home experience are preferred. Candidates should also be comfortable with light driving for community outings or appointments when necessary. Heavy lifting capability and experience working in long-term or home & community care settings are important assets for success in this role.
