What You'll Do Help people grow, learn, and live with dignity. Provide support to participant in choosing and participating in a variety of meaningful recreational, vocational, and daily living skills activities based on participant desires, parameters of the program, and their individualized Community Habilitation Plan. Create a welcoming, supportive home environment. Provide personal care consistent with participants skill level and as outlined in the habilitation plan (including; bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, laundry, etc.). Follow dietary guidelines as directed in habilitation plan. Participate in day trips and community engagement. Ability to share your hobbies and passions. Employees may be mandated to work beyond their scheduled shift based on operational needs. Orientation and training will be conducted at the agency Headquarters in Middletown. Requirements Valid Driver's License and must maintain it in good standing High School Diploma or GED required Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Good oral and written communication skills Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, residents and their families Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures Six months of related experience is preferred but not required All FT Direct Support Professionals must be approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) at time of hire or will be completely trained and certified by the agency within the first six months of employment.Job Type:
