Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Live-In Caregiver Companion Professional candidate must live in the home, work to build a relationship of mutual care and support with persons with disabilities; The LIC provides companionship, guidance, and emotional support along with general safety and security oversight. The LIC is responsible for notifying the Circle or Support as warranted. An LIC receives no direct compensation. The compensation is board and lodging. The LIC will pay no rent, has a monthly food stipend, has all utilities costs paid on their behalf, and is provided free wireless internet access. In addition to performing the LIC role, we do offer an hourly paid tax exempt (as per IRS Notice 2014-7) work as a Direct Support Staff (DSP). Should you be interested in the dual role of LIC/DSP you would provide direct care supports and skill building, safety and security : personal care needs, money management, medical care, appointments, family and work connections, household chores, laundry, medications, meal preparation, and transportation. Live-In CompanionCaregiver Professional's share social time with individuals and engage in activities in and out of the home in accordance with everyone's interests. Live-In CompanionCaregiver lives in the home, in private room , room and board covered by L'Arche.

LIC QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 18-20
years of age or older 1-2-year commitment to the community preferable Meets all Community policies, State, and Federal requirements Strong verbal and written English communication skills College education preferred but not required Obtain valid New York State driver's license within first 30 days of employment Must have car Must live in home

Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Monitor and document patient observations, ensuring any changes in condition are reported. Maintain a clean and safe living environment, adhering to hygiene standards. Communicate effectively with clients and their families, fostering a supportive atmosphere. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their well-being.
