Position Summary The Homemaker/Personal Care Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on assistance and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with their Individual Service Plans (ISPs). The DSP promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life by assisting with daily living activities, personal care, household management, community integration, and health and safety needs in a home setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene. Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and individual preferences. Assist with medication administration and documentation per agency policy and DODD regulations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment, including housekeeping and laundry. Provide transportation and supervision for community outings, appointments, and recreational activities. Implement and document all goals and objectives outlined in each individual's ISP. Monitor and report changes in individuals' physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to the manager or nurse immediately. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including progress notes, medication logs, and incident reports. Promote community involvement and independence while maintaining the safety and well-being of all individuals served. Participate in required trainings and maintain all certifications as mandated by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). Maintain professional boundaries and demonstrate respect, patience, and compassion in all interactions.

Qualifications Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Certifications:

Valid Ohio Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Current CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certification (or ability to obtain). Must meet all background and health screening requirements per DODD. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of person-centered care and DODD rules. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow directions, complete documentation, and handle emergencies calmly. Reliable, patient, and committed to improving the lives of individuals served. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and/or transfer up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with mobility. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
