Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide attentive, personalized care for a group of five residents in a residential Adult Family Home (AFH). This vital role involves supporting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their well-being in a warm, respectful environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving, creating a positive atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for. We have several positions open at this time: Day shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 3-4 days a week.

Night shift:

3-4 nights a week, fully awake nights.

Weekend night staff:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM. Overnight caregiver (24‑hour rotation): You would work 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, sleep on the premises, and then work the next day from 7:00 AM-7:00 PM. This is a 24‑hour position, and you must be available to be woken up at night in case of an emergency. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability. Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols to maintain safety and compliance. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques. Operate manual handling equipment safely for resident transfers and assist with mobility needs while adhering to safe patient lifting practices. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements, ensuring proper hygiene and food safety standards are maintained. Maintain clear communication with residents' families and healthcare professionals regarding health status and care plans. Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support techniques. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous. Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for transportation needs. Strong understanding of resident rights, geriatrics, and home & community care standards. Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required for resident transfers. The following certifications are required for employment and must be completed or provided during onboarding

Pre‑Service Dementia Training Certificate Home and Community‑Based Services (HCBS) Certificate Providing Inclusive Care Certificate CPR and First Aid Card If you currently hold any of these certificates, please provide copies. If not, we will assist you in getting set up to complete the required trainings.
