Role Overview:
As a Direct Support Specialist at Northwest Habilitation Services, you will be responsible for providing motivation and guidance to clients facing persistent mental health challenges. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our care team to help clients set realistic and achievable goals, building trust and self-confidence along the way. Whether you work part-time or full-time, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the individuals you serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients in establishing and achieving personal goals through tailored support and guidance. Engage with clients to build trust and establish positive relationships. Develop and implement routines to boost clients' self-confidence. Teach important skills in hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping. Provide ongoing support in individual households.
Qualifications:
You're a great fit if you have the following skills. Experience working with individuals with persistent mental illness or developmental disabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for clients. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Commitment to uphold the values of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
Bonus If You:
Have previous experience as a Direct Support Professional or similar role. Possess certifications related to mental health support or caregiving. Are familiar with community resources available for mental health support.
Employment Type & Availability:
This is a part-time position within the hours of 8am-6pm, Monday through Friday.
Location:
This position is located in Salem, Oregon and is On-Site Only.
