Job Description

Residential Care or Direct Care Staff workers are members of our team who provide group and individual care to children who at times display challenging behavior. They create and maintain a safe, caring and home-like environment for children consistent with the Wise Care Services Policy and Guidelines. They plan, coordinate and participate in developing independent living skills and recreational activities with children to promote positive growth and development.
MUST BE AVAILABLE NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS.
Some PRN also available. Essential Responsibilities/Skills/Experience
  • Monitor and contribute to the daily life of residents and provide a high standard of responsive care and supervision.
Undertake and organize housekeeping and meal preparation to create a positive and safe physical environment. Administer medications, facilitate some groups and manage many daily activities and transport. Record events and critical incidents via secure tech and EHR/case notes to meet record keeping statutory requirements. Liaise with families where appropriate. Also expected to attend meetings as required or appropriate (for example, residential care plan meetings, Wise Treatment Teams.)
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School or GED completed. You must be least 21 years of age or older. Desire to serve in a helping profession. Experience working with emotionally or behaviorally disordered children and provision of Trauma-Informed care and practices preferred.
  • Shift work required
  • 9a-9p /9p-9a. Must be available for weekends. Some overlap shifts also available on weekends from 12-8pm. Rotating weekends.
  • Must be willing to authorize background checks (SLED, Central Registry, DMV), complete a physical to meet State requirements and submit for drug testing.
  • Must be able to complete new hire orientation
  • CPR/First Aid, WELLE Behavior Management certification, Direct Care Provider training, Annual training, be a licensed driver and have ability to lift over 50 pounds.
Must have some experience with children.
