Job Description

Position Description Caregivers assist with activities of daily living for elderly, mentally disabled, chronically ill, or physically challenged residents. Caregivers are responsible for duties associated with maintaining and running a household. Shift 2:30pm-10:30pm Responsibilities Assist residents with medication reminders, bathing, showering, toileting, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. Perform household duties, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and other tasks as needed. Provide companionship through social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, and encouragement of activities that stimulate the mind. Prepare and maintain records of resident progress and services performed. Report changes in a resident's condition to the manager or supervisor. Complete and maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service. Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED accepted and may be required in accordance with state regulations. Must be at least 18 years of age. Positive attitude and flexibility to perform various duties in service to residents. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dedication and passion for serving seniors, with excellent customer service skills. Ability to make choices and decisions in the resident's best interest. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills and an appropriate level of understanding. Competent organizational and time-management skills. Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must not appear on the TennCare terminated provider list. Must not appear on any applicable registry checks, including: State abuse registry State or national sexual offender registry State felony offender registry
