Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 24-hour Caregiver to provide comprehensive support and assistance to individuals requiring around-the-clock care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, home health, and long-term care environments, with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents. This role involves working in a dynamic setting where attentiveness, empathy, and professionalism are essential. The 24-hour Caregiver will ensure safety, comfort, and well-being through attentive monitoring and personalized care plans. Duties Provide continuous supervision and support for residents, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to identify any changes or concerns promptly. Administer medications accurately in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain compliance and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Utilize manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to assist with transfers safely. Maintain detailed documentation of patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in accordance with healthcare standards. Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and update personalized care plans effectively. Ensure a clean, safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Requirements Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or intellectual disabilities. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and the use of assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications in hospice or hospice care are a plus. Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach toward residents' needs and family interactions. Ability to work flexible hours across 24-hour shifts while maintaining high standards of care. Basic cooking skills for meal preparation aligned with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
